We all involve some personal and job/business issues right?...things we either should or need to improve or fix but we often never start. For many folks, the presssing issues have a tendency to be related to personal goals and problems, such as connections and such. For me personally, my target, goals, anxiety and frustrations have a tendency to mainly be related to business.
So, while most people, business owners and business people included, hire counselors or therapists. Some more recently a life or career coach, but I've the business equivalent: a business coach atlanta.
I have been working with my coach now for years. We "meet" via phone or skype for an hour, usually twice a month, but sometimes more when something more urgent arises, we may meet extra times that month or for longer "as needed". He has helped me never to only transition myself from job and profession oriented to start-up my business, becoming a business owner and businessman, but he is also a regular source of support and encouragement.
While coaches can vary in price -- from around $100 to several hundred dollars or even thousands per session, but having had less costly coaches which were marginal and today a far more expensive but superb coach, my advice is stretch but don't break and this so long as you can write the check price shouldn't be the deciding factor. The ROI for everybody I know with an excellent coach is x5, x10 or even more, it's hard to measure when they help you become more profitable forever and every year.
You want to find a coach who is aware of you as well as your business and that you are comfortable with, but the one that will push back on you also, too. Finding a "yes man" (or woman) won't create a good go back for your investment. Find a person who will be painfully honest however, not hurtful, touch on you like you're a world class professional so you become one!
Getting tips can be considered a good place to start your visit a coach. Also do some research online and then try a few in a complimentary or low-cost first treatment (which most instructors offer) to get a feel with whom you think is the best fit to your requirements.
Though ultimately, don't limit yourself to coaches that stay in your area unless this is a huge issue for you, as having a larger pond to fish from and frequently a coach that vacations a great deal is often far better in the long run and heck, what exactly are you going to do when you eventually move...keep changing mentors?
Here's why I feel that this type of business therapy is helpful and how you as well as your business can benefit from it.
I pay to only speak about me and my business
I'm an consultant -- it is the role I play in life. That role is so widespread that for a while, my nickname was Lucy (a la "The Dr. IS WITHIN" from the Peanuts toon). And professionally personally, I give advice to resolve other's problems.
This means that almost all of the right time, I am not centered on or discussing my development.
By paying a business coach atlanta I get, for a full-hour at a time, to speak about and concentrate on nothing apart from me, my problems, my opportunities, my goals and have I speak about me? I am forced by it to schedule the perfect time to work on my own business, time that I would have spent assisting another person likely. This discipline has been invaluable in morphing my professional life and growing my business endeavors.
Additional business knowledge
While I do have many friends who oblige hearing me if I asked, many don't understand business. So, their help isn't so helpful in problem resolving. Creating a savvy entrepreneur in my spot gives needed point of view, such as experiencing the forest through the trees, so to speak, from someone whose type is relevant.
History and consistency
Having a history of working jointly allows my coach to see habits or to guide things and opportunities that I've mentioned before that I may have overlooked or even ignored, but that could be helpful in today's and the near future.
Because my coach is a paid consultant and not a good friend, he shall call me on the few occasions where I have to be called out. Friends, family and even colleagues are often hesitant to get this done because they have a multi-faceted relationship with me and want to keep up the "warm fuzzies" in our interactions. The coaching relationship is aligned around supporting me to succeed, gives my coach more flexibility to be honest and helpful.
On the far side of the coin, I am also brutally genuine with my coach, because I know that there surely is no wisdom. I don't have to worry about hurting someone else's thoughts or being vulnerable. Not that I am someone to be anything other than brutally honest really, but I still feel just like I've more liberty to deep-dive into the nitty-gritty of my moods, difficulties, etc. because I understand that he'll help me to work through those, and never have to worry about it making family evening meal awkward.
So, whether you are seeking discipline, a website to vent, genuine opinions on your business/task or even a just sanity check without common sense, I recommend that you invest in a business coach to help you As well as your business reach the next level. About 80% of my friends experienced good experience from other 1st coach, but 90%+ after trying a 2nd one, just what exactly are you waiting for, go find a good one and begin - trust me, it is the only way to soar
